The challenge

Mywheels.ie is a service that offers used car buyers an option of conducting a complete history check before purchasing a vehicle. It’s a popular service as it eliminates the possibility of purchasing stolen or totaled vehicles. The challenge here was to redesign the website to highlight the benefits of using the service, enable the brand message to be communicated effectively, and improve conversion rates. Further, in this competitive market, it was also crucial that visitors didn’t have any confusion related to prices or the checkout process.

Design and development

First, we conducted a deep analysis of the site’s primary audience and related traffic. We wanted to make sure that our improvements were not superficial when compared to the old website. In fact, we wanted to ensure that visitors were able to quickly understand the benefits of the service, how it worked, and seamlessly checkout when they were ready.Next, we identified problems with the user experience (UX) and went through a few iterations of the project before deciding on the final design. Further, the design of the final report was also modernized and updated to help visitors find the information they were looking for, quickly and efficiently.

We built the new website on the existing engine and this enabled us to keep development costs down to a minimum.

Conversions

After the (re)launch of the website, the service experienced a 14% drop in the bounce rate. Further, the enhanced UX and reduced website load time from 7.6 seconds to 4.1 seconds resulted in a 53% increase in sales.
